What a wonderful romance. Elle is working to be veterinarian and has been attracted to Connor since she was 14. When her grandmother suggests she intern with Connor, she jumps at the chance. Of course, Connor doesn’t make it easy with his cold and demanding ways. She truly believes he hates her. Connor is fighting his attraction to Elle every day knowing she needs a mentor and teacher as she works on her degree. He also struggles with the 8-year age difference. But most of all, is the challenges his ex-wife provides as he works to spend time with his daughter. Connor is great at keeping his personal life private and in Eldorado, that is amazing given the close-knit community and how much he interacts with everyone as the only vet in the area. I thought he was just a jerk from previous books but I became a huge fan as I learned the true heart of the man. I love how this journey built for them and allowed me to truly be invested in each one of them and wanting them to find that forever happily ever after. Dr. Connor Wallen never thought he would be single and having to share custody of his daughter. He can't believe what is going on in his life and so he has shut down. All he cares about is his daughter and his Vet practice which is so busy he has no time to breathe. When a friend asks to hire the lovely Elizabeth Bishop so she can get some experience for school he knows it's a bad idea. Elizabeth is so excited to be working with Connon she knows that he is the best person to learn from in order to be the best Vet she can be. These two are attracted to each other, however, Connor is such a jerk that Elizabeth purposely pushes his buttons. Their banter is funny and their worth ethic is amazing. When they cross that line can they go back? And what happens with Connor's daughter? Loved this story so much heck this whole series is amazing.
